Trinity Access Programme (TAP)

Trinity Access Student
  • TAP is a key part of Trinity College's social mission. Its central aim is to increase significantly the proportion of students from low-income groups progressing to third level.
  • TAP works in partnership across the education sector and with students, teachers, families, communities and businesses to address educational disadvantage and to significantly increase participation.
courses
  • One51 Foundation is supporting the TAP 20 Student Support Initiative which targets students who have progressed into Trinity College via the CDVEC Partnership Preparatory Course in Liberties College.
  • Support for TAP has enabled the participation of 502 students in undergraduate courses in Trinity in 2008-9 and facilitated the graduation of 240 students from lower income backgrounds.
students
  • TAP estimates that 74 students will benefit directly from student support funding provided by the One51 Foundation over the four years, 2006-10 and 100 students will benefit from other forms of support and resources provided while they participate on the TCD/Liberties Partnership Preparatory Course.
  • One51 Foundation funding contributes to the operation of TAP's link with the Liberties as well as providing direct financial support for the students who progress to Trinity. In this way, One51 Foundation's support is hugely beneficial for current Liberties students as well as those progressing to Trinity.
