  • Support Africa Foundation adopts a businesslike approach to effecting change in Africa through rural development programmes.
  • Support Africa assists low income farm families in rural Ethiopia to improve their income by providing access to improved seeds, irrigation and market access, as well as educating farmers on best farming practice.
  • The One51 Foundation has financed the development of the High School in the Aleltu Woreda in Ethiopia where Support Africa is presently implementing an integrated rural development programme.

The high school in the Aleltu is successfully meeting the educational needs of this community:

  • National Exams were sat by 288 students in 2008, of which 23 qualified for University Preparatory School and 205 qualified for Vocational and Technical Schools of Further Education.
  • There are 654 students registered in 2009, of which 270 are female, and it is anticipated that Aleltu High School will provide education for over 1,000 students in the coming academic year.
