Ireland Funds of Great Britain

  • Following World War II, hundreds of thousands of Irish men and women migrated to Britain to find work and send money home to Ireland to support their families. Many of this generation remain in the UK now where they have slipped through the system, are not listed or registered for services and often live an impoverished and lonely lifestyle.
  • The IFGB provides funding to Irish community organisations across the UK whose focus is to support those in health, housing, social or psychological need.
  • The One51 Foundation is supporting these Forgotten Irish migrants in Britain through IFGB in the formation of a special Task Force of beneficiary grassroots charities that support this elderly and vulnerable group of people.
  • The One51 Foundation is supporting these organisations to enhance and sustain outreach support services to these forgotten Irish people.
