Cystic Fibrosis Hopesource Foundation

  • The Hopesource Foundation promotes and funds better treatment and quality of life for Irish people with Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Cystic Fibrosis is Ireland's most common, genetically inherited, life threatening disease. Cystic Fibrosis is caused by a faulty gene. The main organs affected are the lungs and digestive organs. Approximately 1,100 young people in Ireland have cystic fibrosis.
  • The Foundation establishes and funds multi-disciplinary teams in Irish hospitals, promotes and funds research into Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland and promotes awareness of the disease.
  • The One51 Foundation has contributed grant funds to the Hopesource Foundation for the provision of new isolation units at Children's University Hospital in Temple Street and Beaumont Hospital.
