The Hope Foundation, Calcutta
- The Hope Foundation works primarily with abandoned and abused Street Children in Calcutta, of which there are an estimated 200,000.
- The Hope Foundation provides primary care facilities and social services to 18,000 children, with a particular emphasis on education.
- Through Hope, the One51 Foundation seeks to address first-generation learners and break the cycle of poverty.
- The One51 Foundation is supporting the implementation of an Educational Programme which will develop Special Needs, Crèches and Coaching Educational Centres for up to 2,000 street and slum children in Calcutta.
- This Educational Programme will address the holistic development of the children at a physical, psychological and cognitive level.
- In addition to primary education, the Foundation also supports capacity building of Hope and formal school teachers, counselling for children and parents, health check ups, and awareness and advocacy.
