About Us
Background
The One51 Foundation continues the co-operative spirit and ethos of Horace Plunkett, the founder of the Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society Ltd ("the Society") in 1897 and the co-operative movement in Ireland, whose legacy is still evident throughout Ireland today. This philanthropic initiative was enabled by the support and investment of the Member Co-Ops of the Society.
The One51 Foundation has been sponsored by and large by the generosity of the Co-operative Members of the Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society when they generously gifted their assets to the Foundation ahead of the reconstruction of the Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society Co-op and the incorporation of One51 plc.
